Many patients come to the Female Sterilisation Reversal Clinic, and they’re really excited about having their surgery done. They can hardly wait to get their surgery, and then once they do, they’re eager for their first period to come so they can begin to try to get pregnant as soon as it’s over.
Some of them have had great success, and they’ve found that they get pregnant right away – even during that first or second month. However, for the others, it takes a little bit more time.
Feeling eager to get pregnant after you’ve had sterilisation reversal surgery is normal, however, it’s important for you to remember not to let those thoughts consume you. We understand, it’s difficult. Especially since you just underwent surgery for the sole purpose of being able to conceive a baby. However, you’ll find that the more you can relax, the faster you’ll conceive. Here are a few ways that you can take your mind off worrying about getting pregnant.
Start a New Hobby
Perhaps there’s something that you’ve always wanted to try, but you just haven’t had the chance. We advise you to take off about a month after your surgery, so that is the perfect time to pick up a new hobby. If you’re engaging in something you really enjoy, you’ll find that it’s a welcome distraction, and it will relax your mind and your body.
Go on Frequent Dates with Your Partner
Spending time with the person you love the most is one of the best things about being in a relationship. You don’t want the next few months to be all about getting pregnant, and it will benefit you to get out and have some fun with your partner. Do an activity together that you both really enjoy, or try something new that will help to bring you closer together during this important time in your life.
Plan Activities with Your Other Children
It won’t be long before you’re no longer feeling like running around the garden with your kids because you’ll be too pregnant! Take advantage of the time you have now to build up your relationships with your other children. They’ll enjoy spending time with Mum, and you’ll get the opportunity to focus your attention solely on them, before the new baby arrives.
We’re excited about this new journey you’ve chosen to take for your family. If you would like more information about sterilisation reversal, we’d love to talk with you. Please contact us today.
